This past Monday, my buddy Colin and I took advantage of the nice fall weather by heading up to the high trails. We filled up Colin's bitchin' old Ford F250 HighBoy and went to the trail head. It was a perfect Fall day, 60s and sunny! The trails were tacky and made for great riding. We started our ride by climbing the North Fork Trail past 7 waterfalls, continued climbing by going up Metolius-Windigo in the high alpine meadows, hooked up to Flagline with its fun technical sections, then the Swampy Trails, and finally down the South Fork Trail. It is about a 22 mile loop with lots of variety in scenery and trail variation. We only ran into 2 older guys and had a sweet afternoon enjoying each others company, the woods, and perfect trail conditions!! The only unfortunate part of the day was Colin took a mean crash on a creek crossing and fractured a few ribs. He tuffed it out though and rode the whole loop!! Cheers and enjoy the pics...
