Out with the Dogs....

Saturday, Molly and I went to explore a little more off of the Cascade Lakes Hwy...It was about 20 some odd miles to get to this prime little camping spot to take the dogs out for an afternoon of hiking...Off of the The Cascade Lakes Hwy we drove to NFD 370 up into the mountains past Todd Lake...This forest service road is only open a few months of the year because of the snow. Hope you enjoy the pics....

Kaia chasing Finn...Check Kaia out, she is totally off the ground in the pic...

Some cool wildflowers that were growing next to the wetter areas..

Kaia having a blast....She loves running in the open..

Finn, Kaia, and I walking next to The Middle Fork Creek.

Molly looking over to Broken Top, a beautiful view from this little butte (Ball Butte?) that we hiked up.

One of the two track roads we were on to find a place to cook dinner....tailgate style in the mountains..

Our dinner spot for the evening....reheated clam chowder and some bread!!!Tailgate style in the mountains.. And a peaceful spot it was..

Cheers to all....hiking up around this area got me all excited for the next ski season to come....We spend a good chunk of time near this area on the skis once the snow starts flying....by the end of September beginning of October they should start getting snow at night....elevation: about 6000-7000 ft .. You will have to excuse my poor blogging format...I am getting used to our new computer...Maybe next blog I will have my ducks in a row!!
