Bridger's First Nordic Session

This past November and start of December Molly and I were skiing with our little man right up to the day he was born, all warm and content in momma's belly. This past week, now that he is 7 weeks old we got him skate skiing and snowshoeing. It has been a blast to have him with us...

Here we are out in the Penalty Box working on the Nordic Skis applying some Solda Performance Red, the wax of choice for our area on almost a daily basis. Waxing skis for Central Oregon Cascade conditions is simple compared to back home in Minnie. Have to start with the basics before heading out and playing on the sticks.

Ironing in the wax, it was fun to look down and see Bridger's little eyes looking all over wondering what this was all about. He was soon to find out...Just so you know, that is Tico in the background, he is our most recent addition to the family after Bridger was born. He is an Australian Shepard/ Golden Retriever mix and is absolutely loving Finn and his new parents...

This was a proud moment for me..I have always looked forward to taking a child of ours out to enjoy the outdoors and introduce him to all the wonderful opportunities for fun that snow, ice, trails, mountains, and lakes can bring us. This was the first clear day in over a week as we had hella storm come and dump over 100" in 7 days...it was a great day out at The Mount Bachelor Nordic Center!! The day after this, yesterday, the next storm cycle came in and it is still snowing as we speak...La Nina is crushing out here in the PNW...So instead of skiing the next day we were off to our next adventure....

All five of us out snowshoeing!!! We are about 15 miles from our house, in the Deschutes National Forest. You all know we love to play, so we are trying to get him out and doing everything with us now that mom is healed up....We look forward to the many new places we can show him in the future and the playing there is to do...Cheers to Winter and its wonderful adventures to be had.
