Three Generations of Nelson's...

Grandpa William, Grandson Bridger, and Me

It has been quite some time since there have been three generations(of males) of "our" wing of the Nelson Family name that populates this small planet Earth. Since our son, Bridger Haakon Nelson, was born this past month the Nelson males can once again say we have three generations of us living at the same time. I have had my father,William, do some digging into our background to get some of this info. The last time there were 3 generations together was about 40 years ago in Chicago where my father, grandfather, and great grandfather were together. Here is a small snapshot of our American Family Tree:

1st-   Louis Nelson: Born in Denmark, Settled in Racine,Wisconsin.
2nd- Chris Nelson: Born in Racine, WI. 1800s.
3rd-  Thomas Carlton Nelson: Born in Chicago, Ill. August 15th, 1908
4th-  William Ward Nelson: Born in Chicago, Ill. September 7th, 1944
5th-  Monty John Nelson: Born in Chicago, Ill. August 4th, 1978
6th-  Bridger Haakon Nelson; Born in Bend, OR. December 7th, 2011

I can't help to wonder how many generations it will take for family to continue moving West and leave this here fine country of the USA. I know I would have no problem living in most of the Scandinavian countries, making it 5 generations of Nelson's to make their way back to the "Homeland." Not that that is going to happen, just making a statement. Cheers to family.

Great picture Monty! Love the family history bit. I have been researching and trying to put together an ancestry book of my own and find it so fascinating!
