Singletrack in the Desert..

Finn and I sleeping in the back of the truck the first night..Somewhere outside of SLC..

Not long ago my brother Ryan drove from MN to Eastern Utah to meet up with me, Guy (from Salt Lake City), and Buck (who drove up from Aspen) to ride some single track outside of Vernal,UT. It is East of SLC and has some great terrain to offer for those who love mountain biking. The area where we camped had about 60 miles of super skinny single track and barely anyone riding on it over a beautiful Spring weekend...Along with the biking we also decided to drive back to SLC because a nice weather pattern had formed and dumped a healthy dose of white stuff in the Wasatch Range....Luckily Guy and his wife have a house right at the base of Little Cottonwood Canyon so we had easy access to Alta for a day of skiing...The best thing about it, it was closed for the season so we had the place to ourselves...besides a few others who were capitalizing on the snow and the fact that it was closed!!!I think this may become a Spring time tradition....a different destination each year to meet at....do some biking/skiing/camping....maybe will be called Taco Fest!!! Cheers and enjoy the pics....

The Slayer with an old Horse Coral and some retired bike shoes!!

Trail signs with a little Jackalope in the middle..

Ryan riding a fun little technical downhill..

Bro on a bitchin' climb!!

Ken and Barbie were on the trail too, or is that Elvis?? Apparently we interrupted their afternoon in the desert!!

Buck camping next to an old car...I love old shot up cars you see once you are off the main roads of the Western States...

Buck riding some slick rock..

Meet "Pip"...This is Guy's dog...She is awesome to watch, she looks like roadrunner rippin' through the desert...or as I like to call it "Pippin' through the desert"...I want one!!

Ryan, Buck, and Guy

Flowers were blooming in the desert!! Hard to believe such a delicate thing can live in such a harsh environment....

Finn enjoying the sunset over the Green River Valley...That line above Finn's head is the river...It was a ways off..

Ryan doing some freeride mechanical work....

A nice bike part wind vein, Pip, Ryan, and Guy on "The Spine."

Ryan and Buck riding the edge...

You wonder why would it be called "Taco Fest?" Four Toyota Tacoma's..thats why! We are all packed up and heading towards the snow now!! We got 3 or 4 (can't remember) solid days of riding outside of Vernal...We will be back again..

Ryan taking a breather from the skin up to the ridge line we were scoping out..Ryan lived here some years ago so he knows Alta and all its nooks and crannies..

Buck skinning

My brother in his element!!! We have not skied together at Alta for about 10 years...It was a great afternoon!! If all afternoons could be spent riding/skiing with friends and family??? That would be the dream!!!

Getting ready to drop on in!!

Our artwork!! Fresh lines in the Wasatch Range..or actually in bounds at Alta while it was closed..

Enjoying the view and the sun!!

This was truly a fantastic little road trip I took from Bend....
To see my brother and some friends.....
That will leave memories till the end....

Cheers to Family, Friends, and Outdoor Activity!
