First Snowshoe of Season....

This past weekend we had our first significant snowfall in The Central Oregon Cascades. Enough that it got all us winter lovers excited...There were lots of hikers out on the The Cone, Mt. Bachelor in general, and on Mt. Tumalo..Here are a few shots of Kaia, Finn, and I on Mt. Bachelor and Mt. Tumalo snowshoeing..

A cool hollowed out tree stump with snow piling up in it...Looked like a miniature Crater Lake..Finn was intrigued too as you can see..I was trying to get him to jump in there but he was a little nervous about the bottomless circle..

I got really excited for winter after this weekend...It did not help that the new Ski Journal showed up in the mail and I got registered for the 2010 American Birkebeiner!! Cheers to snow and winter sports...
