New Tunes for your Happy Ears!!
Now, I realize many people have already heard these CDs or at least of these groups/singers I am going to post today...The thing is I get so excited about new tunes to add to our collection that I had to share. The first is Mason Jennings new disc called "IN THE EVER." The CD has a few different sounds for Mason but also has similar tunes like his past work...a blast to listen to. Check him out at MasonJennings.com or Brushfirerecords.com. The second disc we got was Josh Ritter's "In the Dark, Live at Vicar Street and In Good Company, A Concert Movie." We have just recently been introduced to this great band. His lyrics and acoustic playing are easy on the ear!! The best thing about this disc is it is live and you get a DVD of the show with short interviews with Ritter, which give you a little feel for who the man is. Check him out at www.joshritter.com or www.independentrecords.ie. Our 3rd and 4th CDs are some of Amos Lee's. We went and saw a live show of his at The Bend Athletic Club's outdoor venue. The show was fantastic, cold, but intimate. He is such a charismatic person that he is just a blast to watch play and sing. He is having such a good time!! Anyways we got his self titled disc "Amos Lee" and we also got "Supply and Demand." Both are great discs..Watching his concert he reminded us a lot of Keb' Mo', the big smile and how he interacts with the crowd...Check him out at www.amoslee.com..The last disc we got was Jack Johnson's newer disc "Sleep through the Static." This is a really mellow CD and the title appropriately explains what you are about to experience. As usual he is great to hear...It has been some six years or so since we have seen him so when he comes around we will go. Check him out at www.Jackjohnsonmusic.com or www.Brushfirerecords.com....The next CD on my list to get is the new Metallica....oh yeah! I believe our next shows we will hit up here in Bend are Taj Mahal and Bela Fleck. ..Enjoy and until next time have a nice day...
