My new skis, ready for the Birkie!

I have wanted to do The American Birkebeiner Ski Race in Wisconsin for some years now. I think of it as a good endurance goal. I also think of it as starting a new tradition for myself, friends, and family, to get together, and get a good work out in while doing so. This race has been a tradition for many years now for thousands of Nordic Skiers alike. Before this it has been a tradition in our roots as our ancestors have come over from European and Scandinavian countries. So this summer I bought myself a nice new pair of Fischer RCS Skate Skis for my birthday. They are 192's, stiff, and light. My old and short Rossignol skis will still get put to good use as "rock skis." I can hardly wait for the snow to fly so I can start hitting the corduroy up again, flying through the woods, and finding the rhythm that is so mesmerizing. Here is a pic of the new boards with the boots that I got a few years ago...Cheers!!
