This weekend we loaded the
ol' Wenonah Echo on the
FJ60 and went to seek out
Hosmer Lake. It is a small, pristine, spring fed lake about 30 miles south of our house in Bend off of The Cascade Lakes Hwy...The elevation is about 5000 feet. It is a non-motorized lake(our favorite) so there is a lot of wildlife to see...There are numerous small lakes like this one off of the Cascade Lake Hwy that we look forward to exploring more as the hot weather has arrived here!! We saw plenty of Atlantic Salmon and various Trout species in the crystal clear water...Along with that there was a variety of birds to see..none of which I know the species, but I am learning...Molly can fill you in on that little endeavor of mine.. Hope you enjoy the pics of what Central Oregon has to offer..

Molly with Mt. Bachelor ahead of us...Our local ski hill..

There were these beautiful flowers all around the edge of the lake..

Molly with South Sister to her left and Broken Top right above her head...This is facing to the North...

Another view of South Sister to the left and Broken Top to the right..

The small falls on Quinn Creek that we had a goal of getting to. It took a little over an hour(with some stopping for pictures) to get to this end destination..

Me enjoying a beer at the end of where we could paddle...From here you can hook up on some trails that go to Sparks Lake and beyond..We will save that for another day..
I will continue to update pics of these beautiful little lakes as we explore them more...Cheers!
