Moscow...Idaho that is!!

This is a shoe tree outside of Shaniko,OR...On our way to Moscow..I have wanted a picture of it but just never seemed to make it work...

About two weeks ago Molly and I hit the road over to Moscow, ID for a couple of very great reasons...
1. To see a childhood friend(Mauri), her fiancee Marcus, and their little boy Miles..
2. To hit up the road and mountain bike trails around the wonderful town of Moscow.
3. To see Josh Ritter in his hometown playing at Rendezvous in the Park....

And a wonderful long weekend it was!!

Molly climbing the Headwaters Trail on Moscow Mountain....about 2 seconds after this picture Molly somehow lost balance and tumbled to the bottom of this 15-20ft ravine...all beat up, she got back in the saddle again to ride another 15 miles of single-track..On this trail we made a new friend Nick, who gave us a nice little tour of his neck of the woods..During the ride we found out he was friends with Mauri and Marcus...we later grilled out with him and saw him at the concert too.

Lunch break(post crash) on Paradise Point...It looks over Moscow and the Palouse Region..This small little mountain range outside of Moscow has a population of moose, black bear, and mountain lions..What a beautiful little range..

Molly, on the Paradise Path/Latah Trail...This went from Moscow to Troy...Most of the ride is through the rolling Palouse and wheat ranches...Very different scenery than we are used to!! It was also about 100 degrees out this day..We were glad to be in shade once we were done riding!

This is Josh Ritter, playing in his hometown(Moscow) at Rendevous in the Park..A very small intimate venue...The show was fantastic!!!

Josh Ritter...doing his thing!

Meet Miles, Mauri and Marcus's son...He is super cute!! He cracked me up the whole weekend we were there..

Miles all packed up in one of Mauri's bags...He loved Molly, can you tell???

Somehow, even though we were there 4 days...We did not get a picture of the five of us together....I guess the little guy stole the show and that is just fine! Cheers..If you ever go biking in this region check out www.bikemoscow.org or search for MAMBA...their local bike organization..You can also head down to Paradise Creek Bicycles and talk to Tjay..the owner. He will set you up! He is also another friend of Marcus and Mauri's..It is kind of a tight nit community.
