A few weeks ago we left our Central Oregon Post to head south into The Baja for a gathering of friends to celebrate the wedding of two wonderful people,Troy and Angela. As always with this group of long time friends and also an addition of new friends we had plenty of adventure and obviously a fair amount of debacle.

Katie and Buck-Molly and I downtown Cabo San Lucas one of the first nights. Good to be back with the ol' college housemates..

Molly enjoying some wine on our patio the first night we arrived at The Sheraton Del Mar between Cabo San Lucas and Cabo San Jose.

The view from our room looking out at the pools and The Sea of Cortez. Hey Joy, pretty sure we are facing East here...Oh ya, you still owe us from that bet!

Another view looking out of our room.

Molly on the beach down from the resort..

A classic shot of Molly from behind facing the future...We always get shots like this, just a different location!!

Molly and I relaxing on the beach..

The dinner cruise, I think there were about 75 or so of us from the wedding on this boating event..Just getting our drink on and almost ready to dance dance revolution!

Ryan, Josh, and I.
This is where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean....Pretty cool landscape.

Some seals sunny themselves at the point.

Cbass...The "man of the weekend"...Getting the dancing going..

This is after the cruise, Buck and I are playing our little Turtle Horns...Kind of reminded me when we played trombones together back in the day!! Thanks for the little turtle Buck..Next time I see you I should be able to play a song on it!

Katie's got her wings on! Just getting ready to be a mom I guess..

Molly and I cutting up a rug..."Shades Down!" Don't ask where the horns or wings came from as I really do not know! This night got a little out of control!!!

View from our room at night..it was nice going to sleep with the waves crashing down.

Buck and Bojar at "Zippers" getting ready to try and catch some waves..

Crazy iguana sneaking up behind us as Jess and I enjoyed an apple...Ha!

Jess and I on one of our first days surfing at "Zippers."

Molly and at one of the restaurants on the resort....This was about 20 minutes before Molly got ravaged by food poisoning....

Jess chillin on the beach.

Molly, sporting her new fedora somewhere on the grounds of the resort.

The wedding party getting ready to make their way down the beach for the ceremony...It was a perfect day!

Buck and Katie after the ceremony..

Molly and I after the ceremony..

Little Joel Decker and I....I have been friends with him since before school was even going, I think?? 25 or so years at least! A bunch of these guys I have been friends with for at least that long..Pretty cool to have such good buds from childhood...None of us really see each other that often since we live all over the US but once we are back together it is like we see each other daily!!

Our table at the reception..

Angela and Troy aka Cbass...No need to say any more..a fantastic couple who put together a great wedding, in a beautiful location, with some of the best people around!!!

Ryan, Cbass, and I

Shots of the resort from the beach.

The plants and flowers on the grounds of this compound were beautiful!!

Oh yeah...I believe this is the afternoon after the "Vase incident!" Love the Blue Blockers Decker! Cbass, did you ever get charged for that thing??? I hope not..

Another shot of the compound.

One of the last days there we loaded up 3 little white econo cars, strapped some surfboards to the top, and drove over to Playa Los Cerritos...It was a little over an hour drive from Cabo San Lucas up The Pacific Coast side of the Baja...Possibly one of my favorite days down there...The road was crap, the drivers were crazy, and the scenery was amazing!! This was the Mexico I was looking for..No rules, no resorts, and not too many Americans! This is Buck, Joel, and I getting ready to head out..All you out there making fun of my surf hat can eat one as my head did not get burned and I bet next time we are out everyone will have one!!

Buck and I riding the same wave in..I fully intend to get better at surfing throughout my life...Buck, we will get another shot like this when we are like 80 or something!! Maybe even in the same location.. As you can tell by the wave size, we have nothing to brag about with our surf skills!!

Sweet little surf shop in Cerritos.

It took a few hours to convince Molly to get in the water and give it a shot but once I got out there with here and helped her a little she was having a blast and got up pretty quickly...She even got some comments from some locals...I think they just like the blond hair personally...just kidding wife..you rocked it!

Here Molly and I are again with her balancing act...Somehow we did not get a shot of her standing but she did plenty of that!! I LOVE this picture!!

Here I am cruising in on a little peeler..

The shit you see in Mexico..I love it! This is my kind of life guard...

The little bar/restaurant at Los Cerritos.. On the other side of this is where Big Jer and I cleaned and steri-striped Balbo's leg after her board took a 3 inch gouge out of her calf...Off to the hospital in San Lucas for a dozen or so stitches...Nice call Jer on having the well supplied first aid kit!

This was a crazy little art shop/bar/restaurant/commune on the side of the road driving back to the resort...These are our little cars packed to the gills with Modelo, food, surf stuff, and people...

Watch out for the assess....they seem to roam to wherever the shade is..even if it is right alongside the road with semi's and cars cruising by at 80+mph...

Another shot of Zippers, where we surfed closer to the resort.

This was our last night there...About 25 or so of us went out for sushi and laughed about the past week..We all decided this needs to be an annual event, we'll see if that works out or not as all of our lives get more complicated with work, kids, and just life in general...
I wish I could have posted all our pics but there are way to many!! It would have included more shots of the endless laughing, "The Vase", new friends, old friends, and the fantastic scenery in general.
I think my favorite thing about being in Mexico was the super laid back lifestyle they have...The idea that so much goes without rules, regulations, etc...I loved that...The US seems to me like a raging control freak....We are all so tied to the things you "can" and "cannot" do that we forget to just be who we are!! Anyways, cheers to good times and enjoy your summer...
