Yachats, Oregon

Here the six of us are: L-R( Sandeep, Katy, Noelle, Sean, myself, and Molly)

Recently Molly's sisters flew in from Minnesota and Montana with their boyfriends and we took them to the Central Oregon Coast...We decided to take them to Yachats, a small town just north of Florence, Oregon. It is a sleepy little burg with nice people and a beautiful coast...We rented a place just up from the beach in town so we could enjoy the views and sounds of the powerful Pacific Coast..It was purely a relaxing weekend as we laid around, read, played some games, hiked on the beach, soaked in the hot tub, and had plenty of drinks!!! We usually head to the coast once or twice a year and I must say this was one of my favorite locations...Reasons being the proximity to the small, charming downtown and the endless beaches...The beaches vary from rocky and rugged with awesome tidal pools to sandy and calm....If you are ever there hike the beaches and go eat at this little hole in the wall downtown called Luna Seafood House, http://www.lunaseafishhouse.com/. Their seafood is amazing, the guy who owns it has his own fishing boat and catches his fish daily!! Here are a few pictures from the weekend we spent there, hope you enjoy...

From our place looking over the Yachats River mouth into the Pacific.I messed around with the brightness/contrast and RGB a little on this one.

One of the many crazy "electric" looking tidal pools, some form of sea plant..

Some Sea Anemones and Sea Urchins

Sea Anemone, some Barnacles, and Scallops

 And another...

I could stare at these little pools all day..

This little pool was like 4 feet deep..It was a picture perfect little pool...too bad the water was freezing!

A close up of a Sea Anemone in the above pool.

Another pool with lots of barnacles surrounding it.

This phallic looking pool/mossy rock I definitely tweaked with the RGB and contrast.

This one looked like it had moving plants in it but it was actually all dried up like this..Pretty cool!

Another shot of the same pool from a different direction looking towards Yachats..

This was looking down from the road in front of our VRBO towards the Pacific at low tide...There were a handful of surfers out this day....Looked fun!! Hope you enjoyed the photos and I can't wait until our next trip to the coast as it is such a beautiful place...Cheers...

looks like an awesome trip! I have been to this area of Oregon's coast once and also marveled at the amazing anemones and crazy night-time sands full of plankton that illuminated when you walked along the beach. Oh and the hermit crabs :)
Cool pics.
